Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington works as an author, philanthropist, television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. After moving to England from Greece at the age of 16, she received a MA in Economics at Cambridge University. When she was 21, she became the president of the famed debate society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student to do so. After after her college graduation, she was a well-known Conservative syndicated journalist. In the years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political scene. It was her celebrity that led to the recruitment of a number of well-known contributors for posting their thoughts on news, politics and culture. Arianna was famous after she was elected as an independent in the California recall elections to replace Governor Davis. Alongside this, she led the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. She was named The Most Influential Women in Media by Forbes in 2009 and was awarded the 12th spot on the list. That same year Guardian listed her among the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. made her the President of their media company in 2011, after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter of Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. Even though she was close to her father, her connection with her mother shaped the remainder of her life. In her earliest times, she demonstrated abilities to lead, and for this are still prominently known. When she was 16 years old, she moved over into England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. In Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university she joined Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman president, and also the only president from outside the country. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned a Master's Degree in Economics. In the years following her degree, she was a columnist-critic as well as a TV host. She also appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
